- Move furniture and electronics out of the way and put a bucket under the drip.
- If the ceiling is sagging with water, keep people out from under it.
- Take photos of the stain, the ceiling and anything damaged. They help later, especially with insurance.

Where Kissimmee roofs usually leak
Most leaks start at a handful of weak points, and Central Florida weather finds them fast.
Pipe boots are one of the most common. The rubber collar around plumbing vents dries out and cracks in the sun, and rain runs straight down the pipe.
Flashing where the roof meets a wall, a chimney or siding is another. If the metal was installed wrong or sealed only with caulk, wind-driven summer rain gets behind it.

How a lasting roof repair gets done
Finding the leak comes first. That often means checking the attic for wet wood, stains and daylight, then matching what’s inside to what’s on the roof.
The repair fixes the cause. A cracked boot gets replaced, not caulked. Bad flashing gets lifted and redone. Torn shingles are replaced and sealed down, and raised nails are pulled and the holes covered rather than hammered back down.
If water has been getting in for a while, the decking underneath may be soft. That wood needs to be replaced while the roof is open, or the new shingles won’t hold.
Matching is the last piece. If your shingles are still made, the new ones should blend in once they weather. If the color or profile has been discontinued, ask to see the closest match before any work starts.
